About the brand:

Emma Bridgewater is a British pottery brand founded in 1984 when Emma Bridgewater set out to create colourful, everyday tableware that feels personal and lived-in. The company is based in Stoke-on-Trent, England – widely regarded as the historic home of British ceramics — and has grown to become one of the UK’s most recognised pottery makers.

Every piece is crafted from cream-coloured earthenware and decorated using a combination of traditional techniques, including hand-applied spongeware, brushwork and transfer decoration. This artisanal approach gives each item its own subtle variations and character, and is a defining feature of the brand’s handcrafted appeal.

The brand’s designs are rooted in a belief that everyday kitchenware should be beautiful and functional. From mugs and bowls to jugs and plates, each shape is intentionally practical and designed for daily use and enjoyment. Emma Bridgewater patterns are inspired by the world around us — from playful motifs to nostalgic illustrations and bold typography — reflecting shared moments in daily life.

Today, the factory in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, remains at the heart of production. Around 300 skilled craftspeople work there, continuing heritage skills that bring vibrant and tactile ceramics to life. The company also operates a second production site nearby to meet global demand.
